As a public health care professional, you confront complex health issues. You protect and serve local, national, and even international communities. You strive to control infectious diseases, educate the public about health and hygiene, minimize environmental hazards, injury, substance abuse, and violence, and provide others with better access to health care. You can use the following tips to become a better professional in your field and to make your career more fulfilling.

Be empathic and an effective communicator. As a public health care professional, you need to be proficient in listening and speaking. When listening to others, strive to put yourself in the shoes of those who are talking to you so you can better understand their situation. You may not fully understand their life, but being empathic is already an act of giving them emotional therapy. Additionally, become an effective communicator by using plain language to help others in understanding their health and the needs associated to it.

Use social networking sites. With so many social networking sites available, you can create and maintain an account on two or three sites. You can use such sites to disseminate real-time information, educate the public and promote awareness, and establish a deeper relationship with communities. More importantly, you can use the sites to save lives.

Get the masters in public health California offers. While experience is a good teacher, formal education can validate and enrich what experience teaches you. Get a master’s degree to deepen your knowledge in public health and enhance your proficiency in health practices. Such a degree is also helpful in steering your career to success.

You can join the public health masters program California offers under varying schedules. Depending on your chosen university, you can complete the program in more or less than 21 months. In some universities, you can complete it while maintaining full-time employment.

Contemplate, meditate, and reflect. Being a public health care professional and pursuing the masters in public health California offers expose you to stress. Handling your stress level is important to cope with the demands of your career and studies. Contemplating enables you to see things on a clearer perspective, and meditating allows you to regain balance and focus. Finally, reflecting equips you with the ability to make sense of what you experience so you can better appreciate and fulfill your calling as a responsible public health care professional.

Global Health Progress (GHP) released a new report that reveals how the biopharmaceutical sector in Brazil, the tenth largest biopharmaceutical market in the world and the largest in Latin America, is an important driver for its economy.

For instance, Brazil’s biopharmaceutical sector develops high-quality, highly skilled jobs, which is a key factor in creating a stable economy. Currently, approximately 821 biotechnology companies in Brazil employ almost 100,000 people with an average annual salary of approximately US ,457. Among those companies, six biopharmaceutical companies were featured in a 2003 list of the top 100 companies to work for in Brazil.

Not only does the biopharmaceutical sector produce valuable job opportunities for highly skilled workers, this emerging market plays a critical role in fostering public-private partnerships, which leads to more economic growth and greater access to healthcare for its citizens. Partnerships include the funding of a National Policy for Biotechnology, launched in 2007 to encourage biotechnology applications in five health-related fields. The program aims to make Brazil a global leader in the sector in 10 to 15 years. Additionally, according to a 2009 study, 51 out of 60 innovative companies in Brazil’s biopharmaceutical sector were engaged in collaborative activities with universities and research institutes in Brazil, an increase of 65% compared to 2003.

Investment in research and development (R&D) and promoting innovation are key ways the Brazilian government is helping drive future growth of the country’s biopharmaceutical sector. For instance, R&D investments in Brazil have increased to 1.5% of GDP in 2010 and there are more than 205 highly trained physicians per 100,000 of the population serving as investigators for clinical studies. Innovative medicines comprise approximately 42% of the biopharmaceutical market in Brazil, while over the counter and generic medicines represent 43% and 15% of the Brazilian market, respectively.

“In Brazil, promoting innovation is a public policy priority,” stated Rafael Oliva, Advisor to the Presidency at the Brazilian Development Bank. “The participation of the Brazilian government in research and development (R&D) is considerable, and the goal is to both increase innovative activities in Brazil on a systematic basis, and to consolidate the country’s culture of innovation.”

GHP fact sheet shows how Brazil’s investment in research and development (R&D) will create positive effects throughout the economy, including improving access to healthcare for its citizens through the production of new medicines.

For example, Brazilian companies produced an estimated 5,910 medicines and have 56 medicines currently in development. The growing field of clinical trials is also a significant factor in improving access to healthcare. Brazil’s large population of 190 million people, with 8 out of every 10 residents living in or near a city, means clinical trial recruitment and participation is fairly robust.

Brazil’s robust investment in promoting innovation is contributing to the global expansion of the biopharmaceutical sector, which in turn creates a positive effect on the overarching global health goals of fostering global competitiveness, reducing the health and economic burden of disease on local citizens, developing tomorrow’s medicines and expanding access to healthcare.

Adept and extremely interested in Maths, figures, computations, and numbers? If so, then a course for certified public accountants or CPAs is the route to take in college. But here is a clarification: a course for certified public accountants does not come as a CPA course per se in the college curriculum or course outline. There are actually various college courses that qualify as certified public accountant’s courses. But it does not automatically mean that once the aspiring accountant has finished and passed a course that qualifies as a CPA course, he will automatically become a certified public accountant. There are other requirements that need to be fulfilled after taking a CPA course before one can be deemed a certified public accountant. But in the meantime, here is a primer on what to expect when taking a CPA course.

The Scoop On: CPA Courses

Aspiring accountants are required to take an accounting related course as a prerequisite to achieving CPA status. An accounting related course is a four year college course in either of the following fields: accountancy, taxation, business, finance, or economics. For accountancy, one would usually have to fulfill 24 semester hours and make sure that he gets units in accounting principles with advanced financial accounting, professional auditing, federal taxation, and cost accounting. For those taking business courses, business law has to be taken up and there has to be lessons regarding the Uniform Commercial Code, or at least 3 semesters hours tackling business statistics, and 21 semester hours on accounting and business elective subjects. For those taking up economics, 6 semester hours dedicated to principles of economics may take the place of business elective requirements. Respective states may also require that the aspiring accountant take units of financial accounting theory and principles, computer auditing, managerial acounting, business and accounting ethics and communications, accounting research, business statistics, and commercial law.

Meanwhile, if the aspiring certified public accountant has been in the business of public accounting for 15 years already, then this may qualify for the CPA course requirement in lieu of taking the required degree and studies in college. This work experience must have been supervised directly by a certified public accountant and approved by the State Board for Public Accountancy. For the work experience to be approved, usually the State Board looks for work application of the generally accepted accounting principles or GAAP and the generally accepted auditing standards or GAA. The aspiring certified public accountant should also have experience in preparing financial statements as well as auditing statements.

On Continuing Education After the CPA Exam

Now, let’s say the aspiring certified public accountant has already earned his bachelor’s degree, fulfilled the experience requirements, and passed the qualifying exam with flying colors. He now earns the CPA title; but wait a minute, because the education requirement does not end here. Right after he gets his certification, he is bound to take related courses every year in order to keep his license. This is basically to ensure that he continues to keep up with the trends in the profession.

When most of us think of fear, we think of perhaps coming face to face with a bear out in the woods, or something of that nature. You would be surprised to learn that there are literally hundreds of thousands of things that we can actually be afraid of. These are just a few examples:-

Flying;
Enclosed spaces;
Snakes;
Water;
Wild Animals;
Heights;
Technology;
Bugs;
Losing our Mind;
Speaking in Public.

As you can see, they are in no particular order. One of the very top fears is that of speaking in public. No doubt you have no difficulty talking to a group of your close friends but put you in front of a few strangers who are now going to be hanging on your every word and you freeze, your knees start shaking and you can hardly get a word out of your mouth.

What is happening here? One thing is you are now concerned about what people will think of you. Just remember you have something important to tell them and as long as you are familiar with your subject, it is a sure thing that you know much more about what you are going to say that your audience does. Preparation is certainly the key to making a good presentation.

What I like to do is have a few trial runs at home. I will position myself in front of a large mirror and, while looking directly at myself, give the best presentation I can possibly give. You will be surprised at how, with each try, you actually get better and better. I might also give the talk to my husband and get his feedback. We get so wrapped up in what we are saying that sometimes we are too emotionally involved in it to be objective about areas that could be improved upon.

I have recently read a very interesting book regarding “firewalking”, breaking bricks and bending re-bar. I could feel a massive adrenaline rush just reading about these things. I couldn’t get my mind around the belief that they were impossible to accomplish. However, I knew that the author was not lying and that people were walking through fire, breaking bricks and bending re-bar regularly. There was no trickery involved.

So, how was this being accomplished? Well, the very first thing these firewalkers have to do is have a strong belief that they are going to be successful…..that they are not going to get burned. Just imagine right now, taking off your shoes and socks and standing at the edge of this path of red hot coals. You have to put that first foot forward and take that step into the fire and keep on going and not look back. You have to be fully focused on the task at hand and not start second guessing yourself. If you take your mind off the task, you will indeed lose your concentration and you will have to suffer the consequences.

The point was also made that if you were doing this to impress someone who might be watching, then your ego was fully engaged and you were not placing your focus on accomplishing something but rather on trying to make yourself look good. News flash…..you are going to get burned!

If you are trying to succeed in business, you might have a fear of failing. On a subconscious level you might believe that you don’t have what it takes to succeed like the next person. You might even feel that you are not worthy of success. Until you work on your mindset and have the belief that you can and will succeed and that you deserve to have what you desire, then things will remain the same. Just wanting something is not going to make it so. This is something that you should be doing to fulfill a desire in you and not to impress others with a high income.

There are various techniques to releasing negative beliefs from our subconscious. Most forms of meditation will have some positive effect on us. Visualization and repeating upbuilding affirmations also work very well. This is something that you have to work on on a daily basis if you want to transform your mind over.

You are indeed worthy of achieving all your goals and dreams…..every human being is entitled to that.

You just have to be coming from a place where you truly believe it yourself. We create our own future with our daily thoughts. This is a very profound realization.

We have to stop and take the time to analyze the thoughts that are running through our minds regularly. Are they negative or positive? Do they build us up or drag us down? The moment you realize you are thinking negatively, then immediately replace that thought with a positive one. Keep on doing this and you will find that eventually you are becoming a much more positive person and wonderful things will start happening in your life.

The only thing to fear is fear itself. We have to break through that strong emotion by replacing it with an equally strong or stronger emotion…..one that will fill us with the energy to take that first step into the fire, to keep on walking and to never look back.

Global warming must be real! After all we have top scientists and even failed presidential candidates who says so. With 86% of Europeans polled stating that they “[feel] that humans [are] a direct cause of climate change, and 45 percent believed it could be a threat to them and their families within their lifetimes. Sixty-eight percent said they would either strongly or somewhat support limitations on their purchasing and behavior in support of combating global warming” it is only a matter of time for the skeptical Americans to fall victim to more government control. Those polled said it all, they would be “either strongly or somewhat support[ing] limitations on their…behavior” (Rohinsky) in order to curb a climate threat. This statistic is quite frightening, not because of the climate threat, but because of the vulnerability such beliefs have upon freedoms.

By analyzing the nature of scientific studies, past theories, and the current evidence for global warming, it will become obvious that global warming is not a definitive theory, or even a legitimate one at that, and that the sole purpose of such a theory is to allow government to regulate and control every aspect of our lives.

To clearly understand that the sole purpose of the idea of global warming is to control us, we should look at some of the basic history of the theory. On June 24th, 1972 Time Magazine ran an article titled, “Another Ice Age.” In this article is reports from the top scientists of the day including Climatologist George J. Kukla of Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory stated that the next ice age was on its way. With reports of 12% increases in ice and snow in the northern hemisphere, temperature drops of 2.4 degrees Fahrenheit since 1940, droughts, cold winters and a entire range of climate irregularities, the conclusion was that of a global cooling.

When we jump forward a couple of decades, the s almost no one has even heard of global cooling, and global warming is the latest idea.

All of a sudden, global temperatures had risen, the polar ice caps were melting, and the ozone is nothing short of destroyed. Once again the evidence is lacking, a lot of it is questionable and the only solution for this is for the fearful citizens of the planet to give up some freedoms in order to combat pollution, CO2 emissions, destruction of resources that may combat the warming… The list does not end.

Since the theory of global warming has seen some challenges from a growing number of scientists, the name has once again changed. Now, as even the EPA’s website lists it, it is called “Global Climate Change.” Global cooling was proven wrong when we all realized temperatures were not staying cool, global warming was proven wrong when the science did not add up (as will be explored further in this paper), so the only solution for the agencies and government to look to was to rename the same wrong theories of the past with a vague, cover all name that is “Global Climate Change.” While it has not been proven global climates are changing, it is vague enough to cover any climate pattern that may seem irregular or unexpected, when in fact chance or timing may be responsible rather than the tragedy of climate change.

Since global cooling has now been dismissed it is not needed to completely debunk that form of climate change, but for global warming, an alarming number of citizens around the world believe in it. In 2007, 82% of Americans believed in global warming, rather stunning considering the fact that a growing number of scientists are voicing opposition to the theory. In 1998 Dr. Arthur Robinson, Director of the Oregon Institute for Science and Medicine launched a petition for those who have degrees and science qualifications to sign if they are skeptics of the idea of global warming. 32,000 individuals with backgrounds in science signed the petition including over 9,000 with PhD’s, far more than the 2,500 scientific reviewers the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change used in claiming there was a scientific consensus that global warming is real.

With such a consensus, how come the opposition was 12 times larger?
The consensus that all the loyal global warming activists and government officials always talk about just is not there. They want us to believe that the debate is over and now is the time for action, rather than continued research to actually prove it exists. With such a growing opposition, perhaps it is important to actually look at the facts to understand how the theory has come to be attacked as non- plausible and to see what does not add up to cause such disbelief.

To start off with, we should address the question on whether the planet is actually warming. Warming is pretty much defined as an increase in temperature, and global of course means all across the globe. For global warming to be real, then we of course need a warming globe. Common sense really, but then again, common sense might also suggest that the planet is cooling, not warming. For a decade now, 10 years, the planet has experienced cooling (Carter). 1998 was the last year in which warming occurred and since then, including last year the global temperatures have cooled and show no sign of warming this year either.

Temperatures since 2005 have dropped so drastically that all the warming that took place since the 1980′s was canceled out. When a devotee to the global warming cause hears these facts they usually say, ” ‘how silly to judge climate change over such a short period’. Yet in the next breath, the same person will assure you that the 28-year-long period of warming which occurred between 1970 and 1998 constitutes a dangerous (and man-made) warming” (Carter). They also mention that of course some cooling would have to occur when you start tallying after 1998, since 1998 was a record high year. Well they are forgetting to mention that 1998 was such a record high year because it was a El Nino year, which is a natural cycle that leads to higher temperatures. As they forget to mention that, we also ignore the fact that they also use the cooling of 1965 as their base line. Something else to consider is that the warmest year in recent history in North America was in 1934.

Weather has never been constant, so of course temperatures are going to rise and lower over the years. We should consider that “warming occurred between 1918 and 1940, well prior to the greatest phase of world industrialization, and that cooling occurred between 1940 and 1965.” Periods of warming and cooling occur naturally, it is not global climate change or global warming, it is called “weather.”

As we are deceived and told that the planet is warming, we are also being misled on evidence to support it as well. The most common myth is that the ice caps are melting and our sea level will rise. The National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) reported that there was an increase of 9.4%, or 390,000 square kilometers of ice coverage in the year 2008 over 2007. Despite these facts we always see photographs of ice caps being split down the middle, suggesting out ice caps are outright being broken up and vanishing.

http://www.greenland.com/media(1181,1033)/Greenland%27s_ice_cap_is_melting.jpg Images like this one mislead the public. It suggests the middle of the ice caps, the point that should be the thickest is being ripped apart due to global warming. However, the fact is that the ice caps are increasing in size. If you notice, the photographs never plot the coordinates of where latitude and longitude of where it was taken. If this was done we would realize the truth. Most of the images we see are actually of ice caps breaking apart near the far edge of the shelf. Due to the thickening of the caps at the poles, ice is pushed north or south, closer to the equator, where the planet is warmer. As the ice approaches warmer seas it obviously warms up as well and the molecules start to speed up, melting the ice. Ice is melting because of the fact that the poles are thickening.

As “scientists” parade around with their false facts of warming and melting ice caps, they can not help but to also announce how we are destroying the coral reefs, polar bears are dying, and according to a 2003 study “published in the journal Nature, colleagues analyzed numerous studies involving wild plant and animals for changes due to global warming. Out of the nearly 1,500 species examined, the researchers found that about 1,200 exhibited temperature-related changes consistent with what scientists would expect if they were being affected by global warming” (Than). Considering the fact that scientists went into the study with assumptions on what the effects were (almost as if they were going to get the results they wanted no matter what they saw), they could not scientifically prove what caused the so-called effects.

Everything we hear concerning global warming has to do with doom and gloom. Ice is melting, sea levels are rising, animals are dying, and life is changing, the only thing we can do to end the chaos, is to take action to end the warming. Despite there being no consensus and no real evidence that this warming exists, what the effects would be if it did exist or whether it could even be reversed, governments and agencies all seem to have ideas to curb our freedoms in the name of saving the world. Why is it that every aspect of our life must be controlled? Not a single thing goes unregulated if global warming exists.

The Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) that the Environmental Protection Agency (APA) released early in the year would give them the right to place a price tag on greenhouse gas emissions. Not excluded from this taxation of natural processes is our livestock. In New York, “The tax for dairy cows could be 5 per cow, and .50 per head of beef cattle. The tax on hogs would upwards of per hog,” the release said. “Any operation with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs would have to obtain permits” (Poor). This massive tax upon farmers would cost New York farmers alone 0 million dollars a year, effectively harming the American farm industry, giving the global competitors an upper hand and leaving American consumers having to pay the cost (Gregg). Common sense economics will show that as price goes up, demand goes down, effectively regulating how many animals farmers own, and regulating what the consumer buys.

Taxing livestock would not be the only new regulations we see. A popular idea proposed by those inside of the global warming hoax is the introduction of the carbon tax. “A carbon tax would be paid whenever a molecule of carbon dioxide is emitted to the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels. Utilities would pay it based on their smokestack emissions and pass the cost to consumers in their monthly electric bill. Each of us would pay it when we fill up with gasoline, based on the content of fossil carbon in the fuel” (Schlesinger). Once again, in the name of fighting global warming we have a tax that would force companies to have to raise their prices to consumers if they choose to continue running business the way they were. As companies are essentially blackmailed into investing their money in “green technologies” to find ways to reduce emissions, the consumer is left to foot the bill. This tax is nothing but telling companies what to invest in or telling them they must raise the price upon the consumer. It is a regulative policy that strips away freedoms from investors, consumers and companies to supposedly curb the carbon emissions that is causing a warming that has not even been proven to exist.

Global warming although never proven, is already gaining ground in the taxation side of regulation. The regulation will not end there though. In California all new car models as of 2009 must display a label that states its “global warming score.” While lawmakers claim it is suppose to be about public awareness, “a law endorsed by the European Parliament’s Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety would make governments put a monetary cost on the emissions of vehicles they plan to purchase, and add that to expense calculations” (Greenbiz). The car regulation is not ending with just labeling society and adding expenses, in 2002 California led the way with forcing companies to produce certain cars. Assembly Bill 1493 is currently facing legal challenges from auto makers who are quite frankly, not satisfied with having the freedom to manufacture cars of their choosing removed. Instead of making cars that consumers demand as the free market determines, they are now being legally forced to make cars that “reduce global warming emissions” (California Clean Car Campaign). The free market deciding how cars should be made makes sense, the people want it, they demand it. California, along with other states now considering such laws, have chosen to strip away the free out of market and is now even regulating what type of car we drive.

To many paying a few extra dollars or driving a certain car is not a big deal as long as we combat global warming. Those ones usually do not realize how far the regulation can go though. If the planet is in danger, with ecosystems out of order, climate irregular, food supply being cut off and entire cities vanishing beneath the rising water, there is nothing that could be said to prevent the government and their agencies from regulating other parts of our life too in order to save us from ourselves. Karen Coshof, producer of “The Great Warming,” said in a Cybercast News Service interview, “Population is the underlying problem – the catalyst for [global warming]” (Randall). Now, what is the way to combat the “underlying problem?” The answer would be population control. Most are offended when they hear of the Chinese laws setting limits on children for families, with heavy taxation and fines for having too many children, but yet segments of the global warming activists in America advocate population control, and we can only ask ourselves how soon it will be before legislation is put up to a vote as well.

One of the most famous regulative policies concerning global warming is the Kyoto Protocol. “The protocol’s implementation will require such heavy-handed regulation that Andrei Illarionov, the senior economic adviser to President Vladimir Putin who opposed Russia’s ratification of Kyoto, sees it as a recrudescence of the command economy. Appealing last week to Mr Blair to listen more to informed sceptics, he asked: “Have there been any international agreements to limit economic growth and development before Kyoto? Yes, there were two: Communism and Nazism.” As a matter of fact, many economists have determined that Kyoto would cost America billions of dollars. Japan alone would be out 0 billion to cut emissions 12 times (only once) (Johnson). Through regulative policies that would determine what can and can not be produced, how it can and can not be produced, what jobs we can and can not have, what companies can and can not succeed, what investors lose or gain, it is comforting to know that Kyoto would have only reduced global temperatures by 0.3 degrees Fahrenheit. So much regulation to control global warming, and like the existence of global warming, the results of Kyoto will just not exist.

We have been raised to believe in global warming. It is in out schools, media, movies, and our professors love to espouse it. They would have us believe that global warming is indeed a scientific consensus, all while constantly changing the name of the climate theory, but yet a growing number of skeptics are speaking out and the evidence to support the so-called warming is just not there. When you combine that with the fact that everything about the theory of global warming just coincidently allows the government and other agencies to control and regulate all aspects of our life, you have the workings of a fraud.

If global warming it to exist in our mind, they can raise our taxes, tell us what animals to own, raise prices on livestock, rise the prices of consumer goods, tell us what industries succeed or fail, determine what investments make money or not, regulate what we drive and take away companies freedom to manufacture based upon the free market, and even go as far as regulate our breeding. Not a single aspect of our life will be spared from regulation in some manner. We as a society have already stated that we would be willing to give up our freedoms to fight global warming if it threatened us. They already have us convinced that it exists, now the only thing left is for the threat to be highlighted. The science and history is against global warming, giving us citizens a hope that the world will open their eyes and see global warming as a regulative fraud.

As you’d expect from their name, public courses are open to anyone who can afford the greens fee. They tend to be busy, especially on weekends and holidays. At premier public courses like Bethpage Black, the site of the 2002 U.S. Open, some golfers sleep in their cars overnight so they’ll be first in line for a tee time the next morning. Sleeping in a car may not sound like much fun, but I’m told it’s a great bonding experience.

Each course has its own tee-time policy. Many let you book a time up to a week in advance. Others follow a strange rule: You must show up at a designated time midweek to sign up for weekend play. And some courses you can’t book at all. You just show up and take your chance (hence, the overnight gang sleeping in their cars). My advice is simple: Phone ahead and find out the policy at the course you want to play.

Okay, I’ll assume that you’ve jumped through whatever hoops are necessary and you know when you’re supposed to play.

So you pull into the parking lot about an hour before your tee time. What next? Most courses have a clubhouse. You may want to stop inside to change clothes, and maybe buy something to eat or drink.

By all means, make use of the clubhouse, but don’t change your shoes in there. If you’re already dressed to hit the greens, put on your golf shoes in the parking lot. Then throw your street shoes into the trunk. Don’t worry about looking goofy as you lace those spikes with your foot on the car bumper. Everyone does it!

then,the first thing to do at the clubhouse is to confirm your time with the pro or starter, and then pay for your round. The pro is sure to be in one of two places: teaching on the practice range or hanging out in the pro shop. If the pro doesn’t take the money, the starter adjacent to the first tee usually will. As for cost, the price depends on the course and its location. You can pay anything from to more than 0. At gorgeous Pebble Beach Golf Links in California, the greens fee is more than 0!

After the financial formalities are out of the way, hit some balls on the driving range to warm up those creaky joints of yours.

Your practice sessions may not be as long as mine, but then you’re not trying to figure out how to beat Hale Irwin on the Champions Tour!

Here’s what I do when I’m playing in a pro event: I get to the course one hour before my starting time. I go to the putting green and practice short shots — chip shots and short pitches. This gives me an idea how fast the greens are and slowly loosens me up for fullswing shots.

Make sure that you’re allowed to pitch to the practice green on your course — some courses prohibit it.

Then I wander over to the practice tee and loosen up with some of the exercises. Start with the wedges and work your way up to the driver.

Next, I hit my 3-wood (some players call this titanium club the 3-metal — a more accurate term, but it clangs in my ears). Then I proceed to bomb the driver. (If John Daly is next to me, I quietly wait for him to finish, and then I hit my driver.) Immediately after hitting practice drives — ten balls at most — I hit some short sand-wedge shots to slow down my metabolism.

I visit the putting green next, usually 15 minutes before I tee off. I start with simple 2- to 3-foot putts straight up a hill, to build my confidence. Then I proceed to very long putts — aiming not for the hole, but for the far fringe of the green. I do this because I don’t want to become target-conscious on long putts. Putting the ball to the fringe lets me work on speed. It’s the last thing I do before going to the tee. (Well, if it’s a big tournament and my knees are shaking, I’ll make a detour to the restroom.)

In this article, I’m going to explain how you should choose a public speaking course. If you are considering purchasing a course, I really think you should use these steps.

The first step is to really consider where you are in public speaking and to try and narrow down your search. Are you a professional speaker trying to get more speeches or are you someone that just wants to ace every presentation at work? This will make a big difference. Now judge where you are in public speaking. Do you need know about body language? Do you need to know about different topics to bring up? Or do you just need to overcome a little fear? The last is the most common problem that I see these days in public speaking.

Now you should visit the site of the course publisher. Does the site remind you of SPAM? If so, I suggest you close it immediately. Now that’s not to say all spammy sites contain worthless stuff, its just that I personally would want to be on the safe side.

Testimonials.

This is probably the single biggest thing you have to look at. What other business has the site done? You know, there are a lot of products that are used by huge companies. In my mind, if a huge company can trust a product, who am I to say no? Also look at the testimonials that you see by the individual users. Here are a few more questions to consider when looking at the product’s site:

Do they seem honest and truthful?
Do you connect with these people?
Does it look these people solved their problems?

Experience and Trust. Now this goes back to what I was saying before, but I really want to buy from people that I trust. How do I know if I trust them? Well I browse around on their site, reading almost every word to see if it means anything to me.

I look at the videos they have on the site and determine “is this author experienced enough to handle my problem?” You see there are a lot of sites out there where the individual author is introducing you to his product. This is a great sign.

If the product meets all these above requirements and your personal requirements, you should purchase the product.

In reference to the F.B.I. Crime Index simple assault incidents grew in the US at a rate of 17% from 1997 to 1998, while forced sex offenses rose 450%.

According to the National Victim Center in the United States 1.3 women are raped every minute for a total of 638,280 rapes committed each year. One out of every three American women will be sexually assaulted in her lifetime. The U.S. has the world’s highest rape rate of all the countries which publish sexual assault statistics.

These statistics show that there is a need for a simple and effective system of self-defense for people with no special skills in defense techniques and with an average fitness level.

Nationwide education in this field can remarkably reduce these statistics.

Self defense should be a part of physical education program in schools and colleges.

It is important that when practicing the techniques, a controlled environment be set-up and when available a certified instructor be present when practicing the techniques.

They may be too strenuous or dangerous for some people and they should consult a physician before engaging in self defense training.

This course should be the practical instruction for the learning strategies, tactics and techniques of self-defense against unarmed and armed opponents. The program should be oriented to people with average fitness levels. The course should combine the best technical elements, from different types of Martial Arts, in original and adapted forms and included in this system.

There are different parts of the body, which can be used as instruments in defense techniques. Your forehead, back of your head, fingers formed in certain positions, the edge of your palm, a fist, an elbow, a knee, your feet, toes and heels can be effectively used in critical situations. You also can use successful passive defenses such as blocks, moves and stances, which can allow you to develop an effective defense.

There are over 50 vital points on a human body (sensitive skeletal points, or painful points on organs and nerve centers). Adding this knowledge to your defensive repertory can enable you to better protect yourself, family and friends, in extreme situations.

For an active defense you should know these points on your body and be able to protect them as well as successfully use this knowledge against an attacker.

There are more than 10,000 different types of defense techniques. It is not practical or necessary to learn all of them due to the time and effort involved in the process. Even experts usually only know about 150-200 basic applications. They are trained to perform these techniques automatically.

The system should be based on three basic principles:

1. Effectiveness:

There are many techniques which are of value in each situation. I have chosen the one which, I think, will allow you to defeat an attacker in the shortest time.

2. Simplicity:

From the various techniques for any particular situation, the one which was chosen is the simplest (from a technical point of view), because in real conditions even high skill techniques can be significantlyaffectedby stress and threats to your life. At the same time when you have limited time for training, the simpler technique is the better, because you can “digest” it more easily. Special attention was paid to matching the principle of “simplicity” with the principle of “unification”.

3. Unification:

It is known that every complex technique can be broken down into simple individual components like “blocks”. Techniques with more common “blocks” were chosen because you can learn to do them automatically (as a reflex, without thinking).

This system should be designed as a self-learning system. This means that most of the techniques can be mastered in any environment. You would need only one opponent, but often you can practice even without an opponent, using:

- Shadow training.

- Different objects for practicing punches, kicks etc.

For the convenience of learning the material, every lesson should have a typical plan:

- The opponent’s position;
- The technique;
- The preparation for the technique;
- Instructions;
- Possible variants;
- Possible counter by the opponent.

This course as a part of physical education program can deliver many benefits for participants as well as for public health and safety with very little investment.

With health and healthcare consistently in the center of discussions, health public relations efforts are increasingly important. Health public relations allows those in the health industry to manage these conversations. Global pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers and government agencies already have public relations efforts happening, this is only a matter of taking control of the public relations.

Ever noticed how when politicians are asked about hard-hitting issues, they are able to relate it back to one of their own issues. Questions about gas prices and funding all seem to link back to healthcare. These politicians are using strategic messaging. They want to get their messages on healthcare across and with the right message points, they can do so seamlessly. To start, it is vital to define these key message points. Message points should be written to provide your audience with the information you would like them to have.

This is not the information that the media thinks they should have. Make sure that the messages sound conversational and candid. It shouldn’t sound like you are reading from a teleprompter. You should be prepared to offer a broad view of your topic as well as more narrowed perspectives. Once you have your message points, practice using them. Do several test runs so that the messages come across naturally. Through properly utilizing messaging, health public relations is more effective.

Now that strategic messaging is in place, Health Public Relations is not only being measured by how much publicity is obtained, but if the publicity is on message. All too often, clients focus in on getting coverage for their company or organization. They want top-tier media constantly writing about their every move. This kind of optimal coverage will actually do nothing for a company or organization if it is not on message. Consider some of the top headlines you saw today or some of the advertisements you were exposed to. What can you really say about these companies and organizations? Are you able to provide some specific information regarding each one, or do you just remember that their spokesperson made you chuckle to yourself? Strategic messaging is designed to make sure that your audience has takeaway points and valid information about your health related company or organization.

Health and healthcare will continue to be central issues. Having targeted strategic messages will ensure that your health public relations efforts are not only received, but valued. Being on message with health public relations makes those efforts more proficient and provide more worth to those in the health industry.

For you who like to work with many people from different backgrounds, public health nurse can be your choice for your future job. This job has a great asset for your future life and to the society where you live in. it is because if you decide to become the nurse stated above, you will work in the society or the community.

Becoming a public health nurse, you will probably work in the clinic or the community center which gives the health services for the families come from lower class level. Another job they should do is visiting the people’s house to do some check ups or give the education they require related to their health needs.

It can be said that teaching or mentoring also becomes the part of the nurse’s job. When you work out in the families and the society, it is their job to teach the people about health information to develop their lifestyles.

The people can develop their lifestyle by choosing the right and healthy choices not only in food but also other aspects in their life. With the help of government and the city officials, the nurse is also responsible to develop the people’s living condition in his or her area. For example, they can work with the business owner to reduce the tobacco sale to the minor people.

If you choose this profession, you have the responsibility to make the difference in your society’s lives. There is a possibility that you will be asked to speak in front of the people. The businessmen will ask your professional advice to keep their employee’s health. The public health nurses focuses their education to preventative medicine and wellness.

To become a public health nurse, you require the bachelor degree in nursing. Usually, in the bachelor degree, there is an education about public health in their curriculum. After having your bachelor degree, you should apply for certification.
